May is a wonderful time of the year for REALTORS® with regular open houses, social events, volunteerism, and more.
Oklahoma was well-represented at the 2023 REALTORS® Legislative Meetings in Washington D.C. this month! NAR approved the annual budget and developed new requirements for DEI and fair housing training for members and leadership.
With the recent tornados that have hit our great state, the REALTOR® Relief Foundation has awarded funds to two local Oklahoma REALTOR® Associations to help those in need. I encourage you all to contribute to the REALTOR® Relief Foundation and the Oklahoma Housing Foundation.
Our June General Membership Luncheon on June 13 will feature a panel of our city leaders, where they will answer questions on economic development and the housing inventory. This is a luncheon that you don’t want to miss.
The PR/Outreach Committee is still collecting water and electrolytes for local first responders. I encourage you all to donate by bringing contributions to the June General Membership Luncheon, delivering to the SOBR office, or reaching out to a committee member.
REALTOR® Volunteer Days is coming up on June 3-11. SOBR is participating by volunteering at the Ardmore Soup Kitchen June 7-8. We currently have enough volunteers for those two days, but we will keep you informed if we add more days to participate.
The Education Committee hosts numerous classes throughout the year. The next course offerings will be an all-day Education Seminar with former OAR General Counsel, Geoff Long tomorrow, May 23 at Southern Tech. This seminar is an opportunity to earn up to 7 hours CE credit.
We look forward to seeing you at one of our upcoming classes, community outreach projects, and social events.
