February has been quite a busy month so far with REALTOR® Party Training, Riding with the Brand in Oklahoma City, and hosting our first General Membership Luncheon of the year at the Ardmore Convention Center!
We were honored to have Oklahoma Association of REALTORS® President-Elect, Renee Hoover-Payton, join us to talk about REALTOR® Relief Foundation at the luncheon.
We heard updates from several SOBR Committees, and each have great plans for the year. The PR/Outreach Committee celebrated Valentine’s Day by providing goodie bags to the Sulphur Veterans Center. SOBR will be hosting aREALTOR® Blood Drive that will coincide with the April General Membership Luncheon on April 11 at the Ardmore Convention Center.
The Banquet/Entertainment Committee is planning several social events this year including our first morning social event. Be sure to join us for coffee and breakfast on March 22 from 9-11 at Venue 115. But First, Coffee Social is free to all members, and we look forward to seeing you all there!
With the Oklahoma State Legislature convening this month, the OAR Government Affairs Committee has been working diligently to monitor several pieces of legislation. OAR is reintroducing the State Political Coordinator (SPC) program. An SPC is a REALTOR® member designated as the main constituent contact for one or more legislators. They will work closely with the OAR Government Affairs Committee. For more information on becoming a SPC, please reach out toae@sokboard.realtor.
The Education Committee hosted an REI Course with Jeremy Layman and Gateway Mortgage earlier this month. The next New Member Orientation will take place on March 27 at Southern Tech.
